His last role in banking was Managing Director of KeyBanc Capital Markets in Dallas, where he spent eight years in investment and corporate banking roles, ultimately leading the practice. He has an extensive career in banking, working as a trusted advisor to a number of public and private independent oil and gas companies. He worked primarily with the CEO, Board of Directors, and external financial institutions to identify and execute strategic initiatives to create additional financial capacity and flexibility for the company to survive the low commodity price cycle. He has also served as the Chief Financial Officer for Rex Energy Corporation, a Pennsylvania-based company focused on exploration and production in Appalachia. Most recently, he was with H View Advisors, where he would consult with operators to source drilling capital.
He brings over 30 years of business and finance experience to his role at Perdure, with over 24 years in oil and gas industry finance, capital restructuring, credit, and management of accounting and risk functions. He is a professional engineer, with a BS in petroleum engineering from the University of Oklahoma and a MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas. He formally served on the Board of Inventys (A CO 2 Capture Technology Company) and the Boards of Genesis Energy (NYSE: GEL) and Encore Energy Partners (NYSE: ENP) during his tenure with Denbury. Multiple large-scale CO 2 pipelines and sixteen (16) CO 2 projects were either expanded or initiated during his tenure at Denbury.Ĭurrently, he serves on the Board of Discovery Natural Resources, a private oil and gas company. Denbury is the leading developer of CO 2 EOR projects in the US, focused on CO 2 EOR recovery in the MS, LA, SE, TX and the Rocky Mountain regions.
